Milli Vanilli to reform
The infamous duo, Milli Vanilli, is set to reform to coincide with their Greatest Hits album, which was just released last week. The duo admitted it will be a struggle to regain popularity, especially with the passing of co-front man Rob Pilatus, which happened nine years ago this week. But perhaps the most unusual aspect of the news was the manner in which it was announced- through modern internet trends and catchphrases. The news first hit the public through viewers of justin.tv, where Justin received a twitter message "Omgz, Milli Vanilli to pwn teh world with greatest hits! mv disrespect from behind!". The message was closely followed with another reading "step 1) check us out on teh series of tubes on virb right meow. step 3) profit!!!"... completely ignoring the fact that "meow" is only meant to be spoken. Reaction from the public has been generally the same- "but will it blend?".

Ludwig, co. invents left handed snare drum
Drum manufacturer Ludwig added a left-handed snare drum to their product line today. "This has been a long time coming," said local left-handed drummer Steve Moss, "We've got left-handed guitars, basses, even left-handed keyboards and pianos. Now we finally have the snare." The new drum is compatible with most of today's kits, though it does require the special left-handed drum sticks to play. That's how they get ya.

Albany to change its name to Schenectady
Sick of the name Albany being shared with dozens of other cities across the globe, Mayor Jerry Jennings and the city council voted unaminously to change its name to Schenectady. "'Schenectady' just has a nice ring to it," the mayor explained. "Its unique name exudes singularity. There can be only one... 'Schenectady'". With every mention of the new name, Jennings voice became an excited whisper, as if he were Eddie Murphy announcing "It's Showtime". Though his tone was quickly suppressed to a curt "No comment" when asked about the potential conflicts with the neighboring city of Schenectady, which bore the name for over 300 years. The latter's mayor, Brian Stratton, issued a short press release in response to Jennings, simply stating "We got dibs."

Thom Yorke attacked by London Werewolf
In a late breaking news story, Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke was viciously attacked by what appeared to be a werewolf in London early this morning. Details are sparse, but London Yard publicized the fact that the singer has been taken to a cell for monitoring by a man with a silver bullet. They also advised the public, that if attacked by a werewolf, to hit them in the nose. They hate that.

New Metallica album leaked to internet
Fans scouring the internet can now find "Burlywood", the latest album by Metallica, which has hit music sharing sites in record time. "We haven't even recorded the album yet," explained drummer Lars Ulrich, "these music pirates actually took the songs we were planning to record, recorded them, did all of our cover art, and put the album out for free. We're not making a cent. They're totally ripping us off." Singer James Hetfield added "Track 5, 'Still Not Forgiven', that's a song I haven't even written yet. It's just a melody that's been stuck in my head the past few days. And it's a great song. Exactly what I would have written if those music pirates didn't steal our thunder." "They are so sued," summarized Ulrich.

Left-handed snare drum a hoax
The latest reports from our correspondent in Elkhart, IN at Ludwig headquarters, is that the left-handed snare drum was actually a hoax, and the company has no plans to create the instrument. The cruel joke was targeted at left-handed folk everywhere, demonstrating the intolerance and bigotry that still reigns strong in the midwest. Said a disappointed Steve Moss - "Bastards."
